How much is therapy with Dr. Yung at Aweness Psychology?

Our fees follow standard doctoral-level therapeutic services in NYC. A 50-minute individual psychotherapy session is $300, and a 75-minute couples therapy session is $375.

Do I need to know anything about therapy to schedule this consultation?

No. This consultation is for anyone, whether you’re new to therapy or have tried it before without getting the results you wanted. Dr. Yung has helped many people who felt stuck after previous therapies and are seeking a change.

Is this consultation only for people with mental illness?

No. This consultation is helpful for anyone who wants to feel better emotionally, improve relationships, or find more satisfaction in life. Dr. Yung helps you work through what’s holding you back, whether it’s motivation, confidence, or a sense of support. If you’re dealing with severe addiction, self-harm, acute psychosis, or safety concerns, we’ll need to see if this is the right fit and if extra medical support is needed.

Aweness Psychology PC is a private practice that helps professionals, creatives, and sensitive people manage stress, trauma, life changes, tough relationships, and work challenges. We use proven therapies to ease symptoms and support real, positive change in your life.

How much is therapy with Dr. Yung at Aweness Psychology?

Our fees follow standard doctoral-level therapeutic services in NYC. A 50-minute individual psychotherapy session is $300, and a 75-minute couples therapy session is $375.

It’s easy to overlook the costs of staying stuck, such as missed job opportunities, strained relationships, and ongoing stress and fatigue. Investing in therapy isn’t just about solving problems now—it’s also about opening up new possibilities for growth in your life.

New clients get three extra hours of one-on-one support with Dr. Yung, valued at $1,200, outside regular sessions. This helps you get started quickly and build momentum, so you can make changes both during and outside of therapy.

Do you take insurance?

We are an out-of-network provider, and provide our clients with everything they need to request reimbursement from their insurance company. After your consultation, we’ll share details about our practice so you can check your insurance benefits.

Do I have to commit to therapy?

No! The consultation is completely free, and there’s no obligation. It’s a chance to learn about our therapy and see if working with Dr. Yung feels right for you. You’ll also hear about extra one-on-one support and get your Free Reset Tool, no matter what you decide. As you take this first step, think about one change you’d like to feel by next month. This can help guide your next steps.

What happens after the free consultation if I want to start therapy with Dr. Yung?

If you want to start therapy with Dr. Yung, you’ll be able to pick a regular time that works for you. We recommend weekly sessions for the first 3 to 6 months to help you make steady progress. While many people notice improvements quickly, sticking with regular sessions during this time increases the likelihood you’ll see consistent results.

Do I have to be in therapy long-term?

No. While some clients choose ongoing depth work, many come for short-term, focused support. If you’re navigating:

  • Anxiety or depression during a life transition
  • Grief or betrayal
  • Career changes or burnout
  • Relationship or parenting challenges

We can structure therapy around specific goals and reassess as you regain stability and clarity.

How long is the consultation?

The consultation is about 20 minutes long. Bring any questions or concerns you want to talk about, so Dr. Yung can help you get the most out of your session.

How do I join the consultation call?

Consultations are held online using Zoom audio. Please choose a comfortable, private spot to join the call using the link we’ll send you.
